The University of Hawai‘i Presents Patrick Ball in "Come Dance with Me in Ireland: Encounters with W.B. Yeats"
University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa • Orvis Auditorium
April 9, 2017 • 7:30pm
Patrick Ball returns to Hawai‘i to perform at Orvis Auditorium for one night only, April 9. One of the premier Celtic harp players in the world and a captivating spoken word artist, Patrick Ball is a "peripatetic modern day bard, combining tale-telling, history and music into a seamless compound that reaches all ages and types of listeners" (San Francisco Chronicle).
Come Dance with Me in Ireland: Encounters with W.B. Yeats is a musical and dramatic performance celebrating the life, works and quirks of Ireland's greatest poet, William Butler Yeats. Playing the ancient, legendary brass-strung harp of Ireland with its crystalline, bell-like voice, while performing marvelous tales of wit and enchantment, Patrick Ball not only brings new life to cherished traditions, but blends them to create “a richly theatrical . . . hauntingly beautiful . . . gem of a show” (St. Petersburg Times).
