"I am sure we can come up with a creative way to get every Kenyan artist, and artist at heart, and those who just love artists, or are in love with artists [to participate]… I think art [is] leading the way in this very participative and open process which is a new direction. "

Hi <<First Name>>

We were excited to see a number of you forwarding on this newsletter to others. Do continue to do so. This has inspired us so in this update we focus on linking, sharing and networking.

We are widening our networks with the aim (later in the year) to mobilize as many Kenyans as possible to give to the vision of building a new GoDown. There are many points from which to begin  - first stop, our social media refresh…

We have had so much fun over the last two weeks experimenting on our social media platforms, specifically our Instagram account -
@godownarts – to attract more followers and excite more people.

So we tried out various Instagram features: we uploaded insta-exhibitions, instastories, slide shows and we joined a variety of arts-related hashtags.

We are learning a lot!  Getting followers is no joke  When we grow up we want to be like Ian Mbugua, Anyiko, Nameless and Sauti Sol who all have impressive Instagram networks. (We are big fans and followers!)

If you’re not already following us, please do. And yes, make comment on our posts. And also invite your friends and followers to find us on Instagram.

We'll follow back.
