A bit about our Yoga instructor

I am Lorna, the founder of Yogi Buds. It is our aim to bring the calming and grounding benefits of yoga to children of all needs and abilities, giving them the chance to stretch, strengthen and relax, whilst providing them with stress management tools to set them up for the future. Yogi Buds was founded in September 2015 with just a small toddler yoga class. We now have 4 classes running for children from 4 years up to adults with a diary full with 1:1 sessions too. I have befven practicing yoga since 2007, working with children since 2003 and studying and teaching yoga for the past 2 years. I completed the Diploma in child care and education in 2003 and it was on one of my placements on this course that inspired me to want to work with children on the autistic spectrum. Growing up with an older brother who has autistic tendencies I have experienced, first hand, the challenges of autism and how if effects the individual and their family. This is an area very close to my own heart and I now want to ensure these children and their families have access to yoga lessons and the benefits that it brings. Regular yoga and mindfulness practice brings the physical and emotional body into balance. It helps to reduce stress and reactivity and takes us to a place of calm. Throughout my career I have volunteered at various schools for children with special needs and specific schools for autism. I completed the Yoga and Mindfulness Course for children with Autism and ADHD in 2016 with The Special Yoga Foundation. Since then I have been providing 1:1 sessions offering the use of yoga and mindfulness therapeutically to children on the autistic spectrum. I am now very excited to be able to offer group sessions with Express to children with autism, something I wish was available when my brother was growing up, as he takes part now and just loves it!

Please do complete the referral form below and email it to info@expresscic.org.uk and Lorna will be in contact to discuss further and arrange a taster session.
