i am GREAT ... LVC Family Day...Walk for Life..LVC Gratitude Day for Sr Aleth
# I AM GREAT!
In observance of the National Child Sexual Abuse and Awareness Week (NCSAAW) the Laura Vicuña Foundation launched the #I am GREAT Program on February 9, 2017 to two hundred seventy-one (271) girls.  GREAT stands for Girls Reject   Exploitation, Abuse &Trafficking. Ninety-six (96) Grades 9 and 10 students of Sta. Cecilia School Foundation, Inc. attended the session on the advocacy against child trafficking conducted by Ms. Mercedes Carla A. Juncia and Ms. Rona Cendy Deluta. On February 13, 2017, one hundred seventy-five (175) students attended the session on Protective Behavior for the Prevention of Sexual Abuse conducted by Ms. Joy Hugo assisted by Ms. Mercedes Carla A Juncia.
LVC FAMILY DAY:  ISANG PAMILYA TAYO
Around eighty (80) attended the LVC (Laura Vicuña Center) Family Day: IsangPamilya Tayo with the theme:  “#Minahal, Nagmahal, Nag-Family Day” on February 12, 2017.  It is the sixth year for LVC of bringing the families together.  Sr. Aleth Evangelista, FMA in her message to the families of the Vicunians said:  “Let us make our homes a school of life and love.  Let us support one another.  In this way, your children will have a better future.  The LVC Family thanked Mr. Precious and Mrs. Alice Andam for sponsoring and making this event possible.
WALK FOR LIFE
The Laura Vicuña Foundation of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians which include the Vicunians, staff, Sisters and volunteers went to Quirino Grandstand Parade Ground in Manila last February 18, 2017 for  “ WALK FOR LIFE”.   LVF  participated in the prayer rally to stand up for life.  “Walk for Life” was organized by the Council of the Laity of the Philippines.   It aims to oppose drug-related killings, the reinstatement of the death penalty, and other measures labeled  as “anti-life”.
LVC GRATITUDE DAY .. Sr Aleth
On February 14, 2017, the Laura Vicuña Center (LVC) celebrated their Gratitude Day for Sr. Aleth with the theme:  #Minahal, Nagmahal, Nagpapasalamat”.  Around seventy (70) were present during the celebration which include the children and mothers from the 2 CPC (Child Protection Clinic) areas, LVC girls, Sisters and staff.  The day started with a Holy Mass officiated by Fr. Bobby followed by an Agape and the dance presentation of the CPC area together with the LVC girls.  In her inspirational message Sr. Aleth said, “We are loved by God.  Because of what He did for us we should love Him in return and thank Him for the gift of families. With God’s grace, there is forever in marriage.”  Fr. Bobby in his homily said, “LVC is our home.  It is where we feel safe.  We should encourage others and appreciate everything they have done for us.  Reconcile if we are not in good terms with them.  Lastly, there should be thanksgiving.”
Gratitude Day Celebration for Sr. Mabel
Vicunians from Quezon City and Manila joined the 62 Provincial Educating Community (EC) Gratitude Day celebration for Sr. Mabel Pilar, FMA (Provincial Superior of the Fil-PNG Province and LVF President). It was held at the Don Bosco School, Sta. Mesa, Manila on February 18, 2017.  The theme of the celebration is “One Family, One Faith, One Thanks”.  This year’s celebration started with a Eucharistic Celebration followed by the production numbers of the different communities in Luzon.  Interschool ball games and  food booths to the delight of the educating communities’ participants followed.
Valentine’s Day Celebration with LVF Kids
Ms. Monica Concepcion, daughter of LVF Trustee, Marissa Concepcion, along with 14 of her friends had a post-Valentine’s Day celebration with twenty-one (21) Laura Vicuña Foundation (LVF) kids aged 7 to 9 years old in the Laura Vicuña Center (LVC), Cubao, Quezon City last February 18, 2017.  They taught the children how to make cards for their parents,  played with them and gave them post Valentine treats, cards and gifts. The kids enjoyed their afternoon with these young people.  Thank you Ate Monica and to friends  for spending the afternoon with us.
