Junior State Championships (Hotshots) nominations now open

The Junior State Championships will once again take place in the July school holidays 2017. Waverley is a part of the Hotshots zone, all players interested in trialling to make the Hotshots teams (U13, U15, U17) need to register by the end of April. Trials will be held 7 (U13s, U15s) & 15 (U17s) May and training will be held over May & June (usually Sunday mornings).

U12 SSV nominations open

Registrations for U12 State teams are open (close on 30 March). Initial trials will be held 18-20 April with final team selection late April and the competition to be held in Adelaide 1-10 December.
 

All Junior Teams are now Training

From Labour day week training runs as follows:

U10s: Mondays, from Monday 20 March, 5pm to 6pm

U12s: Thursdays, (Mixed & Girls) Shield 6.30pm to 7.30pm, all other teams 5.30pm to 6.30pm

U14s: Wednesdays, (Mixed & Girls) Shield 6.30pm to 7.30pm, all other teams 5.30pm to 6.30pm

U16s: Tuesdays, (Mixed & Girls) Shield 6.30pm to 7.30pm, all other teams 5.30pm to 6.30pm

We will be running specialist training sessions on Mondays 6pm to 7pm, including goalie training, stay tuned for details.

Registration

If you have not yet registered you must do so urgently - otherwise we may not enter enough teams and we will not be able to accept late registrations.

All registration is via the Hockey Victoria online system, no paper registration will be accepted.

To register go to the HV website or click on the direct link to the Waverley registration on the Waverley Registration webpage.

You will need to select the correct membership category for each player, you can select more than one category for players registering for multiple teams (eg juniors and seniors). See Registration webpage for guidance on the categories.

As a part of the registration process you will need to pay your Hockey Victoria insurance fees (credit card only). Your Waverley fees do not need to be paid this way, once you have registered you will be sent an invoice for payment.

Fees in 2017 see the Waverley Registration webpage for info on fees. Fees cover the charges from Hockey Victoria for each team entry cost, umpire payments and overheads for running the club.

Interested in trying being a goalie? Or have a friend who is keen?

We have quite a few gaps in our junior teams for goalies including:

Trivia Night

A great pre-season activity to get to know people in your age group better- gather a group of parents from your team or age group - or just the gang you like to hang out with and come along to the Waverley Hockey Club Trivia Night.

Date: Saturday 8 April

Time: 7pm start

Venue: Club rooms

Cost: table of ten is $90 or individual ticket is $10

Chris Ciriello Camp

A great opportunity - Chris Ciriello is running a school holiday coaching clinic at the Essendon Hockey club. The event dates are from the 3^rd of April until the 6^th of April.
 
We would ask all participants to be there for registration and Warm Up no later than 8.30 am Sharp each day. After the day’s activities, the participants would do a Cool Down and be ready to be collected by their parents by 3.30pm.
 
(Goal Keepers are included if they want to attend)
 
The all-inclusive cost for the four days is $385.00 as this will pay for the VIS Presenters, Coaches and Caterers for their services
