God Working in Our Youth

In the month of February our Junior High and High School ministries took off to separate winter camps. Our Junior High group attended Camp Pondo where we spent time looking at what it means to grow as Jesus did, “in stature, wisdom and favor with God and man.” Our High School group went up to Big Bear and ran their own camp. They took a deeper look at the three days of Jesus’ death, crucifixion, and resurrection. Both camps were incredibly fun and a time of growth that brought students closer to each other and God and stirred in them questions about how God is working in their lives. Our high school team saw two of their students commit their lives to Christ and both of our ministries saw many of our students rededicate their lives or connect with God in a deeper way that has spurred positive life change and Kingdom living in our students.

Outside of camps, our ministries focus a lot on creating space for our students to tangibly work out what we teach throughout the year. In this past year we have seen God work through our students to...

Pie Faces

I just wanted to share with you the exciting events of this Sunday. EvFree Kids has been raising money to help support the HS Ukraine team. At first donations were very slow until we started instituting some incentives, one of which was that for every $100 donated, one of the Ukraine team members would have to get a pie in the face . . . you know, to help them prepare for the crazy antics of English camp. If they raised $800, Mr. Matt and Miss Nikki would also get a pie in the face.

In one Sunday we went from $66 to $661! But the fun didn't stop there. When all was said and done the kids wound up raising $1661.45! They doubled their goal, so as a reward all of the Shepherds in KC agreed (well, they mostly agreed) to get a pie in the face. We had so much fun and it was such a great opportunity to get the kids involved and help them to experience how incredible it is when you partner with other ministries and all join together in the Big God Story. Enjoy watching the videos below of all the fun!
