Update | 2017 Winter
Dear friends,

I hope you are all thriving and enjoying life. It's my pleasure to share with you some of the exciting developments of 2017 so far:
  1. We're collaborating with Haverford College to offer intercollegiate workshops for first-generation college students this spring.
  2. We're co-founding a new non-profit called the Collective Success Network to build a community of professionals to support disadvantaged college students.
  3. Mindful Mondays start again on March 20!
  4. We just made our very first Calm Clarity video overview.
  5. Calm Clarity will hold our first Weekend Retreat on the Main Line on May 20-21.
Here are the details:

1. Public Talk at Haverford College on March 22

This talk on "transforming adversity into growth and social impact" will kick off an intercollegiate workshop series aimed at serving disadvantaged college students. We are very grateful to DDI - Development Dimensions International - for sponsoring this event series through our Buy-1-Give-1 Program.

The talk is free and open to the public. Registration is requested.

A message from our sponsor to students:

"For over 45 years, the associates at Development Dimensions International (DDI) have dedicated themselves to equipping leaders to motivate and inspire those around them to achieve challenging personal and organization goals.

We believe that leadership is an intensely human undertaking that requires mastery of self before one can hope to have a positive impact on others. The Calm Clarity workshop will provide you with a deeper understanding of how your mind works so you can act intentionally to be your best self.  This is the foundation upon which all leadership success is built.

It’s been our privilege to collaborate with Calm Clarity to make this program available to Haverford College students. We hope that you realize valuable self-insights and enhance your ability to have a positive impact on those around you, just as we did when we participated in a similar workshop."

2. Rallying professionals to support low-income students at a larger scale

According to the Notebook, only 10% of high school students in Philadelphia get a college degree, but 24% enroll in college. This means 6 out 10 of these students drop out of college, most likely with student loans but no degree. Many of these students struggle because they don't have role models and mentors who can support them.

To address this issue, we are now co-founding the Collective Success Network, a platform for professionals to pay-it-forward by mentoring and supporting disadvantaged students to navigate college and life beyond. This initiative is a collaboration between professionals and student leaders, many of whom are Calm Clarity College Scholars courageously stepping up to champion the needs of low-income students.

Please join us.
We especially invite all professionals who have overcome adversity to share the lessons they learned in their own journey with students facing similar challenges today.
