This year’s conference is all about drugs. Our aim is to bring you the latest information and resources across the spectrum of drugs, drug prescription and drug use.

Our program has been built based on your feedback and it includes issues faced every day; from chronic pain management, stroke management, dealing with older and younger patients, managing athletes and drug testing, prescribing methadone, the new drugs in general practice and a special session on the prevalence of Ice in rural South Australia.

The RDWA Annual Conference will be held 19-20 May at the Adelaide Convention Centre.

Resident Rural GP Partner/Spouse Grant

We appreciate that partners do a great deal to support our resident rural GPs. In acknowledgement of this we aim to recognise the professional and personal development needs of the partners and spouses of our GPs.

We are offering grants of up to $3,000 to support partners and spouses to develop career or business opportunities, or to assist in study, professional development or personal development.

Grant funds can be used towards the cost of study or training expenses such as course fees, reference materials, associated travel or accommodation.

Applicants are asked to describe in detail how they intend to use a grant, and how receiving a grant would support them to remain living in rural SA. Priority will be given to applicants whose opportunities are limited by distance, and who have not received a partner/spouse grant previously.

Applications are now open for round two, and will close 5.00pm Friday 24 March 2017.

You can apply now or if you would like further information about the grant please feel free to contact us on 08 8234 8277 or email FamilyPrograms@ruraldoc.com.au.
