Three families attended a 'Home Educators' session, on one of the coldest days of the year. The session was 'All about Earthworms'. The ground was so frozen we couldn't dig for any, but we explored the compost heap and found some.
We also looked at worms from a wormery, to compare different species.
The children made model habitats from recycled containers, and labelled them with facts. Some put real worms into their 'habitats' and others made a worm using modelling clay.
In between quiz questions and habitat building, we all kept warm by doing star jumps in the yurt, and running right around the field! It was memorable session!
