Here are the hidden symptoms of thyroid dysfunction
Living with a thyroid disorder can go unnoticed from childhood. We look “fine” on the outside, but we suffer on the inside…
 The usual TSH blood test may not go far enough to assess the state of your thyroid function and while in some cases essential, neither may the supplementation of Thyroxine as a single treatment for an underactive thyroid gland. Other conditions such as Hashimoto's Thyroiditis can also lie hidden, where as Hyperthyroidism is usually noticable.
The many causes of thyroid dysfunction include the effects of stress (adrenal fatigue) and trauma, having a baby, auto-immune conditions, gut dysbiosis, nutritional deficencies, exposure to toxic environmental wastes, radiation, excess or deficent iodine and genetics, including Down's Syndrome. The resulting symptoms my include fatiigue, difficulty in learning and thinking, anxiety, depression, cold extremities, weight gain, dry skin, hair falling out, high cholesterol levels, cardiac problems and more. Importantly this means that treatment over the counter is not an effective long term option and could possibly be harmful.
