After a Sunday Service at New Hope UPC, in Paramaribo

Planting the seed, expecting the harvest!

Happy Birthday, Mom
Phillip's mom was with us in Suriname from January 12 until February 7. While here she celebrated her birthday, and the church presented her with a card, a cake and a Suriname clock. One of the ladies said the clock will remind her it is time to pray for Suriname!

Bible Studies
We believe in the power of the Bible to change lives. During February we had the following opportunities to teach the Word of God:

  • A new weekly Bible study, in the Creole language (with an interpreter), for Haitians who have recently come to Suriname.
  • A Bible study with a lady who is considering baptism.
  • An outdoors Bible study (under a tree) with a couple who has four children.
  • A Christian development study with a young lady who was recently baptized and received the Holy Ghost.
  • A home Bible study with a twenty-one year old young man.
  • Weekly Bible school classes, teaching Pentecostal Doctrine.
In addition to Bible studies we have been involved in personally, our translator at church has also been teaching a lady and her children a home Bible study. We know that as we plant the seed, the Lord will give the harvest!

Visit to the States
We plan to be in the States for part of April and May to visit our families, and to attend Kristin's graduation from Texas Bible College. We also hope to see many of our friends and partners during that time.
