Last Call for Applications
The Solar in Your Community Challenge is a $5 million prize competition that aims to expand solar access to low and moderate income (LMI) households; state, local, and tribal governments; and non-profit organizations. The Challenge will support dozens of teams across the country with cash prizes and technical assistance to demonstrate innovative, scalable business and financial models that can open new solar markets that benefit these underserved communities. There are three different ways to participate in the Challenge: on a team, as an expert to teams, or as a coach for teams. Learn more at www.solarinyourcommunity.org and apply by March 17th.
Redesigned BBC Multifamily Sector Website
HUD has redesigned the Better Buildings Challenge Multifamily (BBC MF) sector pages on the HUD Exchange to provide a more comprehensive overview of the program and guide BBC partners to resources available to them.
Redesigned pages include:
- BBC Multifamily Sector eligibility requirements, commitments, and incentives
- List of current Multifamily partners
- Information on requesting technical assistance from HUD
- Links to Department of Energy websites and resources, ranging from case studies to retrofit financing opportunities

Utility Benchmarking Webinar Series Coming Spring 2017
The BBC Multifamily Sector is pleased to announce a new webinar series dedicated to utility benchmarking. The series will provide an introduction to utility benchmarking in the multifamily buildings sector and introduce participants to HUD's new online Multifamily Utility Benchmarking Toolkit. The series will also highlight tools and resources available to guide and support partners through successful utility benchmarking. All Multifamily partners will receive marketing materials from the HUD Exchange announcing the opening of registration.
