Action Needed: Urge Senator Smith to Hear HB2426

Hello everyone,
It appears that HB2426 will not be on the agenda for the March 20th   meeting of the Senate Commerce and Public Safety Committee.   Several member organizations of the Coalition have been working hard to encourage Senator Steve Smith (Committee Chair) to hear the bill, but have not been successful.  The committee meeting  on March 20th is our last chance for hearing the bill.
At this time AZCHOW would like to encourage Coalition members to email Senator Smith (STSMITH@azleg.gov ) and request that he hear the bill.   The email can be short and sweet, such as:

I am writing to urge you to hear HB2426 at the March 20th meeting of the Commerce and Public Safety Committee.  I have worked with community health workers for many years and strongly support a voluntary certification process.  This bill will ensure the integrity of the workforce for both CHW employers and the patients that they serve. Certification provides the pathway for new jobs in our state.   Community Health Workers who have been voluntarily certified will have the skills and competencies that are associated with positive health outcome of patients and cost savings for health providers and insurance plans.   I urge you to hear HB2426.

As always AzCHOW and the Arizona Community Health Worker Workforce Coalition appreciate your hard work and support of community health workers in our state.
Thank you,
