Just two years after they were married, six month after the birth of their oldest son and at the beginning of his second year of dental school, Dr Brad Larsen’s wife, Cindy was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. At the time, treatment options were limited, Cindy was told that she would probably live 20 years or less. But being young and naive, Brad and Cindy just went about their lives confident in the promise of a rich future.

Dr. Larsen’s programs inspire his audiences to confront life’s challenges in a positive, proactive way. He explains how he has transformed caregiving from a task to a source of joy and fulfillment. Since turning 60, he has earned an MBA, complete a 100 mile bike ride, run his first marathon and make his first summit attempt of Mr. Rainier. He inspires seniors to get off the couch and make the most of their golden years.

ACTIVITY DIRECTOR STATE CERTIFICATION CLASS on April 21, 22 and 23, from 8:30 to 5:00 each day at The Springs Living Center in Wilsonville, OR. Please request information, registration and application for class: cratti@outlook.com or cratti@oap-odp.com or call 502-740-9706. - Cost of class 220.00 if registration is before March 15^th, late registration will be charged additional 30.00. Class included 147page text, work sheets. In class lecture, videos and demonstrations; students must past test by 70% or better and complete assignments in class for Oregon State Certification.

ALZHEIMER’S DISEASE AND DEMENTIA CARE TRAINING- April 26th from 8:00 to 5:00 PM at Bonaventure in Tigard (registration check in at 7:30)

This seminar is a path to certification as a Certified Dementia Practitioner through the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioner. This is the required live seminar for those pursuing CDP certifications and who qualify through NCCDP. THIS CLASS IS BEING OFFERED AT AN INTRODUCTORY COST OF 120.00 (a reduced rate of the original cost of 185.00 for future classes). This class will prepare you for the Dementia Focused Surveys and will give you 8 hour of CEU credits of Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care Training for Activity Professionals, Social Service and Administrators. Successful attendees will be able to apply to the NCCDP for their National Certification if they qualify. We encourage anyone who has their Oregon State Activity Director Certification to bring their Certification for an additional discount for this class of $20.00. If you have question(s) please contact Connie at 503-740-9706. Many facilities in LTC and Assisted Livings are suggesting Activity Professionals to also have Dementia Care Training. Class covers 10 essential areas of dementia and skill sets to meet this standard. Please RSVP or request additional information and applications forms to register for the class. Registration must be completed and submitted by April 20th, no walk ins permitted unless confirmation was given by instructor. All materials must be order prior to class date and cancellations refunds of 50% of your class cost only permitted if written request is received by April 18th.

Drum Circle & Musical Event- "The Longest Day" Alzheimer's Association Fund Raiser

Everyone is invited to join us for musical entertainment & the fun of participating in a Drum Circle.

There is no charge, but we are asking for donations.

There will be art items created by residents living with Alzheimer’s Disease for sale/auction.

I am also asking people to join my team!

and sign up, or simply donate.

Anyone interested can also start their own team.

All funds go the research for Alzheimer’s.
