The Spring Poetry Colloquium, an intensive, two-week workshop, will be led by Governor General's Award-winning Canadian poet and essayist, Tim Lilburn.



Amid stunning vistas of the Qu'Appelle Valley, writers will benefit from individual manuscript consultations, as well as seminar discussions investigating technical, philosophical, or conceptual issues in contemporary poetry.

Sage Hill's Summer Fiction Colloquium will be led
by Saskatchewan's own Guy Vanderhaeghe.

Guy Vanderhaeghe is the author of five novels, four collections of short stories, two plays, and one teleplay. He is a three-time winner of the Governor’s-General Award for English language fiction for his collections of short stories, Man Descending and Daddy Lenin, and for his novel The Englishman’s Boy, which was also shortlisted for the Giller Prize and The International Dublin Literary Award. His books have received five Saskatchewan Book Awards. His novel, The Last Crossing, was a winner of the CBC’s Canada Reads Competition. He has also received the Timothy Findley Prize, the Harbourfront Literary Prize, and the Cheryl and Henry Kloppenburg Prize, all given for a body of work.



Sage Hill's Fiction Colloquium is a facilitated retreat workshop for five participants who have acquired and moved beyond basic skills in short or long fiction, who have published at least one book of fiction or the equivalent in periodicals, and who wish further development. The Fiction Colloquium focuses on works in progress and combines group discussion, plenty of writing time, and individual critiques. Instruction occurs within a deep-immersion setting over a relaxed 10 days. Workshops in other genres occur simultaneously on-site. Application is open to writers 19 years of age and older from Canada and abroad.
