Celebrating Good Work

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

The bold house finch just outside the kitchen window is nesting early this year, as the warm weather has melted the Vermont snow and ice sooner than usual. The trend of unseasonable weather has been unmistakeable here for several years now; unless one steadfastly buries their head in the sand it is impossible not to notice. That some do insist on not noticing adds an unexpected cascade of obstacles.

Despite all, the good work of so many carries on and thankfully gains momentum. The Donella Meadows Fellows are increasingly at the forefront of innovative strategies, hard work, and creative solutions, here in the United States and around the world. We are thrilled to highlight a few of their inspiring stories below.

With resilience and strength to keep on building a truly sustainable world for all,

Edie Farwell &
Dominic Stucker

She opens with: "Moving towards decarbonization presents a paradigmatic shift in our economy, society, and way of life. We need to ensure that we have the capacity for that change and that we do so in a just, equitable way. We must enable mitigation efforts, but also to adapt to the inevitable effects many communities are already encountering due to climate change." Read more.
