CVAG GETS CARRIED AWAY
There are two figures in a large empty space;
she is the continuous drawer, and he is the decision-maker.

Hello friends,

It was a full evening of art experiences at CVAG on Friday March 10. CVAG’s latest thematic, Carried Away, began with artists-in-residence Vida Simon and Jack Stanley beginning their drawing installation in the main gallery. As their performance progressed over the evening, viewers moved throughout the gallery spaces.

In the Community Space, small sculptural objects and images created by visual arts students from Alberta College of Art and Design, University of Victoria, Emily Carr University, and North Island College were encountered in the exhibition Source Material: Unfolding.

In CVAG’s newest space, the Project Room Studio in the gallery’s lower level, our guests enjoyed refreshments and an opportunity to contribute their own drawings and writings in small journals that are part of Unfolding: a community make art collaboration.

If you have yet to enjoy our current exhibition, you can still see the exhibitions, make art and see a drawing performance. Carried Away is open for viewing Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 5pm until April 13. Jack and Vida's final performance will be on Thursday, March 23, from 3pm to 6pm. The artists welcome viewers to come and go as they please during their performance, which will be followed by Kitchen Party, a Community Potluck event.
