Howdy North Texas! Last week we got to see a prototype Model 3 driving around near SpaceX. This week there is a recent video of the improvements with Autosteer that surfaced on Youtube, and of course, we have a direct link to it down below. We are officially a month & two days away from Earth Day TX & only a week from our 2nd Drive in experience at the Coyote Drive-in. To learn more keep your cursor scrolling!

Getting Delivery Day down from 3,600 seconds to just 300.

With a backlog of nearly 400,000 Model 3 cars to be delivered in the next year or so there seems there could be a change in the way, the cars are delivered to make it more streamline and efficient. As Tesla plans to increase the number of Superchargers, Service Centers, Staff, and infrastructure to accommodate the demand for its new model and existing cars it also feels it needs to address how it delivers cars on the delivery day. Electrek explains here in an article how Elon Musk plans to improve delivery in a way that speeds up the process allowing a smoother and faster delivery day to accommodate the slightly less than 400,000 eager reservation holders.

All Regular Members, Associate Members & Friends of Tesla are invited to join us at Earth Day Texas (Saturday, April 22)! You don't need to be a member to see Earth Day at Fair Park.

It's not just the world’s largest Earth Day event. Join the environmental movement that the world needs right now, unobstructed by politics and fueled by your community

Earth Day Texas is one of our group’s main opportunities to show off the benefits of electric vehicles to the public. We get to show off our cars to hundreds, if not thousands of potential owners!

Earth Day Texas has a whole day worth of exhibits encompassing home, health, culture, community, technology, conservation, policy, industry, and exhibits for children and family too.

More details will be released closer to the event, but expect to be at Fair Park by 9:30 am for admission and escort to our location at 9:45 am. You will be able to leave when you're ready, but Earth Day Texas can easily consume a full day.

We have early admission, free parking inside the event at Fair Park and access to lots of other electric vehicles! You don’t have to stay with your car the entire time — we have plenty of people to watch all of the cars while you step away to check out the great exhibits!

Register now, to ensure you have a spot. Last year, more than eighty thousand people participated! You won't want to miss out on the best parking spaces available.

This event is open to all Tesla owners & non-owners!

In other Tesla news, Autosteer has greatly improved in comparison to FW 17.7.2. Above is a video demonstrating some of the improvements. Be advised the video is 26 minutes long, but it does illustrate city & highway driving with the software improvements from FW 17.9.3 (HW2).

The forecast for Saturday, March the 25th is showing to be promising for a great evening of Movies & Teslas.

Sunday, March 25th
Mostly Sunny/Wind 81/63

"Mostly sunny skies with gusty winds developing during the afternoon. High 81F. Winds SSE at 20 to 30 mph."

With this promising forecast, we won’t have a lot of engines running around us this time. (at least we think)

The Coyote Drive-In in Lewisville has five screens and show double features on each screen every night. The gates open at 5:30 pm and the movies start after dark (between 8:45 & 9:00 pm). Arrive early and enjoy the early evening with your Tesla friends! You can meet us at the centrally-located Coyote Canteen for pre-movie drive-in food, beer and socializing.

See the movies you want and come when you like! Arrive by 7:30 pm for best locations, parking next to other Teslas and plenty of time to enjoy the pre-movie twilight.

All you need to do is let us know how many of you are coming (so we can organize enough space for us all to be together at the Canteen).

Don't forget your lawn chairs!

Click here to save time and buy tickets in advance. (tickets for the 25th will be available to purchase on 03/21/2017)

**Movie tickets are not included with the Eventbrite registration.**

The Coyote Drive-In in Lewisville has a restaurant with pizza, burgers, hot dogs, etc. and a fairly extensive beer list.
This event is both kid & pet-friendly. If you bring a kid please keep them on a leash er... I mean a pet. If you bring a pet make sure you keep them on a leash as others may not love your pet as much as you do.
You can rent radio's at the bar should you want an old school experience instead of leaving your vehicle on through the movies.

Join us May 20th for the first statewide Tesla group road trip to Cocoamoda for world famous Chocolate & Tesla talk with other Texans.

Important Information:

  • As we have quite a few reservation holders and members waiting to receive delivery of their Tesla in our group; NTTOG wants to make sure you know you're welcome and encouraged to attend our events and meetings. Come early to events in which we are driving to hitch a ride with a member with a Tesla. Or, drive your own car, and jump into our group shots too, but we may ask you to relocate your vehicle if it isn't a Tesla when we arrange a photo op. We are ALWAYS looking for that perfect Tesla photograph!

  • If you plan on coming to an event please register through the Eventbrite link so we know who to expect. Some events may require additional registration for your guests. This is so we can have an appropriate headcount for meals, tickets and other items in the planned event.

  • Membership Renewals: We have migrated to a new platform as we've grown. The new service is called joinit.co so expect to see email from them advising in advance when renewals are due. Email info@nttog.com if you are having any trouble in this migration and please let us know so we can help make it a smoother process.

  • If you have recently joined as a member or ordered a club badge and haven't yet picked it up, contact us so we can coordinate getting your badge to you at an upcoming event.

(hint: It is a good idea to keep your badges in your glove box to have them handy when attending club functions or when you are representing the club.)
