Oregon Conservation Law Forum

April 19, 2017 - Portland

The Coalition of Oregon Land Trusts' conservation law forums are educational programs for attorneys and staff for land trusts, public agencies and law firms to learn, discuss and help shape land conservation law in Oregon.

This first forum of 2017 will take place on Wednesday April 19th from 10am-2:30pm at the Wells Fargo Center in Portland.
The forum will focus on forestland conservation and working forest conservation easements, as well as a 2017 Oregon Legislative update. See the draft agenda here and below.
 
The forum is $100 with CLE credits, and $50 without.
Lunch will be provided.

April 19th forum will include (see pdf version here):
  • 10:00am: Welcome

  • 10:15am – 11:45am: Forestland protection through conservation easements
    • Connie Best, Co-CEO, Pacific Forest Trust
  • 11:45am – 12:15pm: Overview of federal and state programs to fund forestland protection
    • Kelley Beamer, Executive Director, COLT
  • 12:15pm – 12:45pm: Lunch (provided)
  • 12:45pm – 1:30pm: Forest Legacy Program Case Study  
    • Josh Kling, Assistant Program Director, Western Rivers Conservancy
  • 1:30pm – 2:00pm: Oregon State Legislative Session Update
    • Kelley Beamer, COLT
  • 2:00pm: Round Robin Discussion
  • 2:30pm: Adjourn
The forum will be in the Hood Conference Room on the 21st Floor of the
Wells Fargo Center:  1300 SW 5th Ave, Portland
Forum enrollment is limited, so register early. There is also a call-in/video registration option for those who would like to participate remotely.
