A Spring in Our Step
Hi food loves, are you keeping warm? With so much snow on the ground it’s hard to believe spring is just a few days away. No complaints here, though. The truth is we didn’t have much of a winter. With that said, I am looking forward to spring. If the past few weeks are any indication, JADE is heading into the season with a spring in its step.
Our month began with my visit to SUNY New Paltz in support of the annual Women’s Leadership Summit. I quite enjoy these professional events. I stand in awe of the bright, bold and beautiful young women chasing their dreams. For me that’s what it’s all about. Pursuing with passion your goals and desires. It’s that same spirit that got me to the International Restaurant and Foodservice Show of New York less than a week later.

Every year, for the past several years, I attend the show as a vendor. This time was different. This year I was a speaker, delivering a presentation to a group of restaurateurs, caterers, and other culinary professionals. My talk on ‘Cultivating Sales through Catering’ was well received with one guest noting it was “the most insightful workshop’ she had attended. As the owner of a service business I am deeply moved whenever the recipient finds value in my work.
Brunch at Bloomingdale's
If you missed our Brunch at Bloomingdale’s last Saturday you missed a delectable, good time. The menu featured both sweet and savory treats. To start, Waffles with Raspberry Compote, Chocolate Drizzle and Hand-whipped Cream. The event ended with a savory Spinach and Smoked Salmon Pastry. As I said, you missed out!
