Reminder - Request for Darwin Newsletter Articles
View this email in your browser
Dear Darwin Project Leaders,

This is a reminder that we are currently seeking articles for the next Darwin Initiative Newsletter. The theme for this newsletter is Sustainable Tourism.

This year's International Day of Biological Diversity on May 22nd is themed "Biodiversity and Sustainable Tourism", something we know is a key component of many Darwin projects.

The below questions might help you frame an article about your project:
  • how is your project working towards sustainable livelihoods through tourism, and how does this compliment (or conflict with!) biodiversity?
  • what are the key success factors and challenges to your project's achievements so far?
  • how have you involved communities in project planning and implementation?
You might find it helpful to reference the CBD Guidelines on Biodiversity and Tourism Development, or frame your project in terms of the Global Goals for Sustainable Development (SDGs).

We are still interested in receiving general updates from projects if you aren't able to provide an article to tie in which this theme.

The deadline for articles is Friday 14th April 2017.

We continue to increase the number of people reading this newsletter and our list includes politicians, civil servants, biodiversity practitioners, development experts, donors, and many other interested parties. Therefore we highly recommend engaging with this newsletter to:
  • Increase coverage of your project
  • Increase support for the Darwin Initiative so that we can maintain financial support in the future.
Articles should be submitted by the Friday 14th April 2017 and sent to darwin-newsletter@ltsi.co.uk. Articles should be 1 side A4 or less. Please attach photos to your e-mail and include details of what the photo is of and to whom to credit the photo. Please also be sure to include the project number relevant to the article.

Please don't put photos in word documents - we cannot use these images.

We look forward to receiving your articles.

Kind regards,

The Darwin Team
