March's Corporal Work of Mercy: Visit the Imprisoned

Oops
After close examination of our calendar, I have discovered that I made a calculation error when I initially created this year's calendar. I missed roughly 17 hours. Therefore, including Monday's snow day, our accurate last day of school is Tuesday, May 23 (10am dismissal). That still leaves us 4+ hours above the minimum, so a couple of unscheduled, future late starts or early dismissals will not affect the date. However, if we lose another full day, it will move our last day of school.

Ways to Pray
#11 In the Car: Lord, bless our shopping trip today. Help us to be grateful for the gifts you give to us. May this food (or clothes, etc.) help us to be mindful of those who have so much less than we do.

Financial Aid
Financial Aid applications must be submitted no later than Friday, March 31; exactly two weeks from today. All of our hard copy applications are gone, so you must apply on-line. On-line applications can be found by visiting https://online.factsmgt.com/aid. Please don't wait for round two. Funds will likely be exhausted after the first round. More information can found by visiting our website HERE.

Preschool Survey
We are conducting a survey to assess the current level of satisfaction with our preschool and day care/latchkey programs. Please help us out by responding to this short survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/Z2FJW5Y

Summer Camp & School
Just in case you are already planning for the summer. Our programs will run for five weeks from May 30 - June 29. Mrs. Hilliard has agreed to host a Summer Camp for 4 - 6 year olds; Mrs. Bussan will teach Math summer school and Mrs. Sitter will teach Reading summer school. More details will follow in April.

ESA's
Much misinformation about Educational Savings Accounts has been circulated: It is very important to understand that ESAs don't take money away from public schools.   Public schools get annual state allowable growth money to fund their programs (approx $6500 per year) and then additional funds from local property taxes.   Funding for ESAs would come from the state's general operating fund--not from the public school allowable growth money.

Under the ESA plan, the state would deposit money into an Education Savings Account, and parents then use that money to cover educational costs such as nonpublic school tuition, home instruction, virtual courses, and tutors. The money the state would be spending on your child’s public education follows your student to your choice of education providers.
