Limited Competition: Analysis of Data from NIA's Alzheimer's Disease Sequencing Project Follow-Up Study (ADSP) (U01)
Funding Available:  Application budgets are not limited but need to reflect the actual needs of the proposed project.  The maximum project period is 5 years.
Area of Research: The National Institute on Aging invites applications specific to the analysis of genome-wide association studies and whole-genome and related sequencing data generated under PAR-16-406.  The ADSP Discovery Phase has identified a number of variations in the genomes of individuals affected with AD. These findings will be pursued in the next phase of the study, called the ADSP Follow-Up Study (FUS). The long-term goals of the ADSP FUS are: (1) to move the field closer to enabling prediction of who will develop AD; (2) to fully reveal the genetic architecture of AD in multiple ethnic groups; (3) to better understand the underpinnings of AD pathogenesis; and (4) to aid the quest for therapeutic targets. The ADSP Discovery Phase and the ADSP Follow-Up Study are described under PAR-16-406 and at the ASDP study description website.

Mind and Body Clinical Trial Cooperative Agreement (U01)
Funding Available:
Application budgets are not limited but need to reflect the actual needs of the proposed project. The maximum project period is 5 years.
Area of Research: Invites cooperative agreement applications for investigator-initiated clinical trials of mind and body interventions in NCCIH designated areas of high research priority. Applications are expected to propose a clinical trial to develop and test adaptive interventions; optimize the intervention by evaluating which element of a complex intervention are critical for changes in outcome; assessing whether the intervention can be delivered with fidelity across sites in preparation for a future multi-site trial; or collect additional preliminary data such as determining the duration or frequency of the intervention to be used in a future multi-site trial.  It is important  to already have sufficient preliminary data that includes: demonstration of feasibility of recruitment and accrual of participants; demonstration of participant adherence to the intervention as well as retention of participants throughout the study; completion of final data collection from any related studies; and evidence that the intervention has promise of clinical benefit.

LOI Deadline: 30 days prior to the application due date
Deadline: June 2

Clinical Coordinating Center for Multi-Site Investigator-Initiated Clinical Trials of Mind and Body Interventions (UG3/UH3)
Funding Available:  Application budgets are not limited but need to reflect the actual needs of the proposed project.  Up to 1 year for the UG3 phase and up to 4 years for the UH3 phase. With strong justification, up to 6 years for the UH3 may be requested.
Area of Research: Encourages applications for investigator-initiated multi-site clinical trials (e.g. efficacy, effectiveness or pragmatic trials) to study the effects of mind and body interventions in NCCIH designated areas of high research priority. Clinical Coordinating Centers should develop and implement the proposed multi-site clinical trial. The objective of a Clinical Coordinating Center application is to present the scientific rationale and a comprehensive scientific and operational plan for the clinical trial.  Clinical Coordinating Center applications are expected to describe plans for project management, participant recruitment and retention strategies, performance milestones, scientific conduct, and dissemination of results. An accompanying Data Coordinating Center application (PAR-17-173 see below) proposing a data analysis and data management plan for the clinical project is required. Both applications need to be submitted simultaneously for consideration by NCCIH.
