What is time? According to general relativity, clocks and time can only be properly defined in the presence of matter. In other words, interaction is essential for change, which is time. It is not time that measures change, but change literally formulates time. Without interaction, time stands still. This means that time is a local phenomenon, but the global state of the cosmos is static, and called the 'Principle of static time.' Read more...
