ACADEMIC

Learning and Pastoral Conferences
Interim (Year 10-13) and Diagnostic (Year 7-9) reports were available via the KAMAR Parent Portal last week. An opportunity to discuss these, and your daughter/s learning and pastoral progress to date, will be available on Friday 31 March from 1.00pm - 2.30pm to coincide with Athletics sports in the form of a 10 minute Learning and Pastoral Conference with your daughter/s homeroom mentor. The mentor (as your first port of call for learning and pastoral conversations at Woodford House) has the best picture of your daughter at this stage in her 2017 learning journey.

Student attendance is most important for next learning steps to occur and so when students are not involved in the conference, they will be involved in House Music rehearsal. We then welcome you to join us at the Twilight Athletics Championships down on the fields.

To make appointments please click on the following link: https://sobs.co.nz/pt/parent.php from 9am tomorrow morning. Please note at the end of Term 2 all Years 7-13 students and caregivers can choose to be involved in 5 minute ‘course-based’ interviews with teachers.

Should you have any difficulties with this process please contact Assistant Principal - Teaching and Learning, Dionne Thomas at dionne.thomas@woodford.school.nz

BOARDING

As per the 2017 Handbook, caregivers of full boarders are requested to check that their daughter has remained in boarding for the correct number of weekends.
  • Full Boarders, Years 7-10 are expected to remain in boarding for three weekends per term.
  • Year 11 and 12 full boarders are to remain in boarding for two weekends per term.
  • Year 13 full boarders may go out any weekend.
Electrical equipment safety check
It is a requirement that all electrical equipment used at Woodford House is safe and compliant. This basically applies to anything that needs to be plugged into a power point to be used or charged. We have a certified tester coming to Woodford House on Thursday 23 March. Therefore weekly or full boarders who have electrical equipment in their rooms who have not had their electrical equipment safety checked should take this opportunity. The safety checks cost $3.50 including GST per item and can be charged to your school account. Testing will take place in each boarding house. Thank you
