Hello Lazies.
We may be in the midst of an NBA style golden age, but it wasn't always this good. New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony, known for wearing outlandish outfits before and after games, took it to the extreme while a blizzard engulfed the city of New York. He was decked out in a fur hat and coat that sent the Internet into a flurry, and his fashion left him meme'd once again.
The early days of the NBA weren't known for fashion statements. The Minneapolis Lakers became NBA champions in 1949, apparently by cloning the same player 11 times. Typically, NBA fashions have mimicked the tastes of the era. As the media coverage grew, we began to see more NBA - and hence more NBA fashion.
On October 17, 2005, the Ex-NBA Commissioner David Stern announced the implementation of a mandatory dress code for all NBA and NBA Development League players. Meaning that that all players must dress in business or conservative attire - including press interviews.
Catch you Monday.
