Junior teams off-field and on-field kit
- All Registered players will receive the following kit (off-field and on field gear) and before Round 1
- All players in u8-u13 boys and u12/U14/U16 girls will receive a club rego pack (drawstring club bag, singlet, synthetic Ross Faulkner ball sized to suit age level). Replacement synthetic balls can be purchased for $25
- U13 and 14 Port / South players will receive training shirt /match day wear.
- All new players will receive club home (blue) and away (white) shorts and club socks. Replacement items for existing players can be purchased – Shorts $ 25 each and Socks $ 15
- U8 and new registrations will also receive a club sports bag and hoodie
- In addition to the above items which players get to keep, players will be issued a numbered jumper which remains the property of the club and must be returned to the team manager at season end
- Shorts for all new players to the club will be distributed on Thursday night at training, Scott will be in the left hand change room from 4-30, the following Thursday 30/03 he will cater for those that are returning players that want to buy shorts, $ 25 each ( they will need white and blue, so $ 50 ), appreciate if you could bring correct change.
- Socks and jumpers, will be provided before round 1,
- Temporary jumpers will be distributed for all those teams playing in Peter Bedford Cup on April 2nd
Off-field kit will be handed out over the course of the next couple of weeks.
Mouthguards
Mouthguards are now ready to be collected. They can collect from Seaside Smiles at 18 Bridge Street Port Melbourne
The lab is attended usually the following hours:
- Monday 8-3
- Tuesday and Thursday8-5(usually unattended between 3:30-4)
- Wednesday 8-4
- Fridays(limited hours usually closed)
Alternatively you can give them a call on 9646 5352 to organise after hours or weekend pickups or make alternative arrangements.
For anyone that missed out on a fitting please you can give them a call to organise a time.

Same rules, ground set up, bibs, etc as a normal game (except no SMJFL paperwork). Normal canteen and BBQ operating.
Coaches and team mangers will send out further information to determine availability of players.
In the afternoon our club will be hosting the SNFL Women's Round Robin. This is a major fundraising opportunity for our club and as such we require all members of our club to volunteer to help with running the canteen and BBQ on the day. A link to the roster will be sent out in the next newsletter.
Following this will be the official launch for our Girls and Women's teams for 2017.

Working With Children Checks

SMJFL Requirements 2017
At the recent SMJFL Secretaries' Night & Presidents' Forum, it was confirmed that the following positions will require Working With Children Checks for the 2017 season:
- Coach
- Assistant Coach
- Trainer
- Runner
- Team Manager
- Umpire Escort - please note, this has been added after receiving feedback from clubs
- Coaching Coordinator
- Club Volunteer Umpires (modified rules)
- Child Safety Officer
- Any person involved at the club who does not have children at the club i.e. senior players helping with training etc.
We ask that all volunteers please forward a copy of their WWCC to secretary@portcoltsjuniorfootballclub.com.au.
The SMJFL will be monitoring the above and all other accreditation requirements through the BlueQ system. In the coming weeks all volunteers will be sent an alert asking to create a profile on BlueQ. From there your accreditation can be entered and verified.
The SMJFL is working on communication regarding the Child Safe Standards and the league's position on each of them.

St Kilda FC and SMJFL are once again partnering in the hopes 2017 will be the biggest and best season yet. The Round 1 (March 25) game will be a celebration of grassroots football To kick-start the partnership, St Kilda FC will be providing SMJFL members exclusive game-day access and experiences.
