Networking Event Wed March 29
City South Traders first Quarterly Open Forum & Networking Event is happening on Wed March 29 at The Minor Works Building (22 Stamford Crt, behind Ergo Apartments on Sturt St) from 6pm. Cr Alex Antic will be attending and speaking on the night, with the Traders Task Group presenting an update on current projects being implemented. Finger food and some drinks will be served. City Retail Forum Thurs April 6
The City of Adelaide through the City Retail Strategy is pleased to present the next Retail Forum with three engaging speakers from New Zealand and the United Kingdom, in what promises to be a great networking and learning experience. Claire Siddens, Gill Plume and Giles Semper are all very experienced in working with business groups in large Cities including Auckland, London and Singapore.
They will be discussing the benefits of retailer groups working together in mainstreet and City environments and how this can relate to Adelaide. This event is perfect for retail and hospitality, business managers and owners who operate in the Adelaide City Centre. Registrations open for Umbrella Festival 2017
Music SA is thrilled to receive State Government funding to deliver Umbrella: Winter City Sounds again in 2017. The success of the inaugural July 2016 festival saw 40,000 attendances at 260 live music shows across 60 venues. Umbrella will be held from July 14-30, with a program of live music throughout Adelaide. For more information and to register your event click the link here. End of the Festival season for 2017
The end of Fringe and the Adelaide Festival this weekend means it's time for the Whitmore Square Festive Lights to come down for another season as of Tues Mar 21. City South Association would like to thank the Adelaide City Council for their ongoing support of the project, Production Solutions for their installation prowess, and the Committee for their volunteer help. We look forward to bringing colour and light back to the Square in November 2017.

Adelaide South West Community Centre Open Day Sat April 1
Join staff, volunteers and local organisations for an afternoon of information, fun and food as part of Neighbour Day celebrations. The Centre will be open to all on Saturday April 1 from 12 to 4pm and you are invited to come and learn about the many activities and events held at the Centre, experience cultural dances and songs, and participate in a Community art workshop. Light snacks will be available (made by the Men’s Cooking Group) and there will be a free Sausage Sizzle. You can also join the City of Adelaide’s Wellbeing & Resilience Team between 1pm & 4pm on Whitmore Square for Basketball Shoot Outs / Table Tennis / Giant Chess and more. Walyo Yerta Community Garden
Open Day Sun Mar 26
The Walyo Yerta Community Garden is holding its annual Open Day from 4.00pm on Sunday March 26 at its home in the Veale Gardens (behind the Rose bush display on South Terrace). This year members will be conducting demonstrations and workshops on gardening in pots and small spaces. The theme comes from the number of apartments now going up along South Terrace, opposite the community garden. Workshops will include decorating pots, growing vegetables in containers, as well as compost and bokashi demonstrations. Devonshire teas with home baked scones and locally made jams will be available as well as tea, coffee and live music provided by local musicians. Raffle tickets will also be on sale with prizes kindly donated by local artists and businesses.
