Local Mission Focus:

Week of Prayer for Tunbridge Wells

The 6th Annual Week of Prayer for Tunbridge Wells will take place from Sunday evening 23 April through to Friday evening 28 April.  We will be praying for ‘Spiritual Breakthroughs’ in Tunbridge Wells, for God’s Kingdom to come in Tunbridge Wells as it is in Heaven.  It is an opportunity for Christians from Churches across Tunbridge Wells and the wider area to come together to pray for our communities.

Once again, we will split our sessions between Christ Church, High Street, Tunbridge Wells and New Life Church, Speldhurst Road, Southborough.  The running order of the week looks like this:
  • Sunday evening at New Life Church, 6.30-8.00pm. Graham Kendrick will be leading our time together as we begin the week praying for Spiritual Breakthrough.
  • Early Morning Prayer - Monday–Friday, 6.30-7.30am at Christ Church, High Street provides an opportunity for commuters and early risers to start the day engaging with God.  (Note: Manna Café will be serving breakfast afterwards.)
  • Midday Intercessions – Monday, Wednesday–Friday, 12-1pm at Christ Church, High Street provides an opportunity to spend an hour of concentrated prayer on a particular theme.
  • Tuesday midday Intercessions – Each congregation is invited to have a time of prayer at some point during the day for their local community.
  • Evening Gatherings – Monday–Friday, 8.00-9.15pm at New Life Church, Speldhurst Road, Southborough provide great opportunities to engage with others in prayer for our communities.
Each day will follow a different theme – for example, on Monday we will be praying for Spiritual Breakthrough for Children & Youth, and on Wednesday for where we work.
There will also be a variety of Mission Displays at New Life Church throughout the week, so come early and see what mission engagement is taking place in our town.  Doors open at New Life Church each evening (Mon–Friday) at 7.15pm with tea and coffee being served.

Together – let’s pray for the transformation of Tunbridge Wells and surrounding communities.

Office Space Available: A local Christian organisation has some shared office space available at very reasonable rates in central Tunbridge Wells. If you are interested in finding out more, please contact Tony on tonyjoyce55@gmail.com.

Premises needed: Charity looking for space in the TW area - Empathy Action is a local Christian charity whose vision is to see an end to poverty, brought about by concerted, compassionate community action.
We do this mainly through a number of experiential activities (simulations) that build empathy and spur people on to compassionate action for those living in extreme poverty, refugees and other disadvantaged groups.
We are currently looking for suitable premises, incorporating office space, meeting rooms, storage and retail space that will enable us to embed our presence in the Tunbridge Wells community. It would also be helpful to have space (linked or otherwise) from which to run some of our ‘lighter’ simulations.
If you are aware of any premises which may be suitable for our requirements we would be delighted to hear from you. Please contact Ben Solanky or Matthew Gurney on 01892 576336 or email: contact@empathaction.org  www.empathyaction.org

House Required: A 2-bedroomed house is required asap in the TW area, in the price range of £925. Mum and 2 daughters aged 8 & 5 require immediate housing. Please email Marianneshaw2014@outlook.com if you can help.
