New Program
GENERAL PUBLIC, COMMUNITY AND PRIVATE ENTERPRISE

WHY
  • To share the expertise of the National Theatre School of Canada (NTS) with all Canadians by offering a range of broadly accessible programs that encourage greater participation and support of the arts in their communities;
  • To develop new relationships with the private sector by leveraging the quality, reputation, and transformational impact of the School’s training that will in turn support the core activities of the School;
  • To build a larger community around the School and encourage people to come together through theatre;
  • To allow the School to engage with social and community initiatives that contribute to building a healthier society;
  • To welcome people into the Monument-National through participative programming.

WHAT
  • A broad range of programs designed to engage non-artists in theatre and creativity, organized in three categories:
  1. General Public: Courses, to be offered at the Monument-National and eventually across the country, that introduce theatre and creativity to community members. These courses may include local play reading groups, community choirs, acting classes, an amateur company, movement and voice classes, scene studies, public speaking, etc.;
  2. Private Enterprise: Custom courses designed for the private sector and companies, including storytelling, public speaking, teambuilding and creativity;
  3. Social Initiatives: Select partnerships with social and community groups who would like to engage the School’s expertise in advancing social change.
