The Antonian E-newsletter

March 2017

Dear Antonians,

Hilary Term at St Antony's has seen the College discuss an incredibly vast range of topics; from talks on 'China and the West: Crossroads of Globalisation', to 'Postmodern Feminism in Nigeria' and 'Photojournalism in Kashmir'. We have welcomed distinguished speakers including Professor Louise Richardson (Vice-Chancellor of the University of Oxford) and Lord Jay of Ewelme (previous British Ambassador to France and Permanent Under-Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs) who looked at the implications of 'Ireland and Brexit'.

We also welcomed this year's Visiting Parliamentary FellowsLord Ray Collins (Shadow Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Development and former General Secretary, Labour Party) and Baroness Kate Rock (former Vice Chair, Conservative Party).

In this issue:

Best wishes from Woodstock Road,

David Parker
Development and Alumni Communications Officer

This month we are holding our principal annual telephone outreach campaign. We have selected a group of current students who will be calling our former members all across the world. There are 10 students who represent 9 different nationalities; each one reading for a different degree at the College.

This is our most effective way of remain in touch with you, and we hope that you will take their call. They will be able to update you on current life at St Antony's, provide you with information about upcoming events and find out how you enjoyed your time at College. They will also raise current funding priorities with you, and will be asking for your support towards either the Antonian Fund, the Malcolm Deas Fund or the Boat Club.

If you are travelling, or otherwise are unable to take our call on this occasion please do let us know by replying to this message.

Lost Alumni and Updates

St Antony's College tries to keep in touch with as many Antonians as possible, however we occasionally lose contact with some of our Alumni. Here is a "list of the Lost", ordered by year. These are all Antonians for whom we do not have an accurate address on file.

We would be very grateful if you know the whereabouts of anyone on the above list. Please email our Alumni Office with any information.

We would also like to ensure that we have the right contact details for you in the St Antony's Alumni database so we can send you The Antonian newsletter, invitations to events and news and activities from the college.

Please complete the Antonian Update Form on our website.

St Antony’s College seeks to maintain a lifelong association with its Antonians. Information on the College’s Alumni database is held securely and confidentially by the Alumni & Development Office for the purpose of effective contact between the College and its Alumni. It will be used by the Development Office for mailing of College publications, the organisation of events and informing you of fundraising initiatives.  St Antony’s College does not sell or give out data to any third party. If another Antonian wants to contact you we require your consent to pass on your contact details (without consent we will, however, offer to forward single pieces of post or e-mail to you). However, Alumni email addresses may be given to recognised Alumni societies (Liaison Officers) associated with St Antony's College, so that they can forward you event and reunion invitations.  The provision of this data is subject to a confidentiality agreement, signed by St Antony’s Liaison Officers. If you would rather not have your email address shared with St Antony’s Liaison Officers, please write an email to david.parker@sant.ox.ac.uk.
