This conference in London, run by the ESRC-funded Nexus Network (of which STEPS is a partner), the Centre for Understanding Sustainable Prosperity and the Centre for Evaluating Complexity Across the Nexus, will address the current challenges faced by research, policy and business, with a focus on the ‘nexus’ between food, water, energy and other resources and issues. Transforming Innovation: Addressing Nexus Challenges with Radical Change

Radical innovation will be required to confront the nexus of sustainability challenges we face. This Nexus Network workshop on 17 March, convened by Andy Stirling, explores how patterns of innovation can change, the role of democratic struggle, and the implications for expertise and the methods and structures of research. STEPS Annual Lecture: Achim Steiner

This year’s STEPS Annual lecture will be given by Achim Steiner, former Executive Director of UNEP, and now director of the Oxford Martin School at the University of Oxford. The lecture, which takes place at the University of Sussex on 15 May, is the only public event of this year’s STEPS Summer School.
