O'Essen Haus St. Patrick's Day
Friday, March 17
Starting at 3pm
The Essen Haus is taking a break from their German roots to go Irish for St. Patrick's Day this Friday, March 17th. Their neighbors at the Come Back In are also joining in on the fun! They're celebrating with an all-Irish menu, live Celtic music, green bier and some other St. Pat's drink specials. The festivities begin at 3pm and will go long into the night.
This year's O'Essen Haus St. Patrick's Day menu will feature some traditional favorites like Corned Beef & Cabbage, Irish Stew, Shepherd's Pie and more. The Essen Haus will also have a limited menu to satisfy your German food craving and the Come Back In will offer their full dinner menu to give you some American options. Dinner is served from 3-11pm in both locations.
In addition to the Irish food, there will be some drink specials to follow the theme of the evening. O'hara's Irish Stout and Irish Pale Ale will both be tapped in time for the St. Pat's fun. Fill up a stein or boot of either, or make any of the 16 German imports or 26 craft tap brews GREEN for the occasion. After all, nothing says St. Patrick's Day like a green boot of bier. Irish car bombs, Guinness cans, and some St. Pat's cocktails will also be in the mix. Select your favorite and settle in for the free live music.
Deep Pool will kick off the Irish tunes over at the Come Back In from 6-9pm. This Wisconsin-based band plays some traditional Irish drinking songs, Celtic folk tunes, and some foot-stomping favorites. West Wind, another Wisconsin-based group, will bring the late night music to the Haus stage from 8:30pm-12:30am. This quartet describes they style as one that "draws from old and new traditions of Ireland, balancing lilting jigs and driving reels with exuberant dance tunes." Mark those calendars for a fun-filled night packed with Irish spirit.
Prost!

That concludes the March edition of the Spaß Platz Newsletter. Next month, we will finalize the spread for the Essen Haus' Easter brunch buffet, review availability for the Come Back In's summer volleyball leagues, celebrate all things bacon, and enjoy some craft beer from local breweries. We will also take a musical journey through the decades and we'll take a peek at some of Spaß Platz's May events. There's a lot to look forward to!
