Dear friends and family who love art,
Despite recent weather, Spring is on its way. March 20 marks the Spring Equinox. Residents of New England, take heart!
This issue is devoted to all things Spring, floral paintings and bird drawings. I cannot help myself. I am watching for the tiny sprouts of tulip bulbs planted hastily last fall - in truth, on the last day before the first snow. The ground has just reappeared in some places, though mounds of snow remain to remind me of my husband's winter shoveling. Yes, I am spoiled.

Studio Open House Next week, Poor Yorick Studios is throwing open its doors to spring. Please come by and visit me in Studio D6. There will be wine and strawberries in my studio and a live band in the hall. What better way to celebrate the end of winter?
You will find all forty plus artists who work at Poor Yorick, 126 Crystal Avenue in South Salt Lake, in house from 4 to 10 pm on March 25. This is a family friendly happening. I hope to see you there!
Above are a few of my house finch sketches which will be on display at Open Studios. Birds are a special favorite of mine and I have done many on commission. Note that they are temporarily a little less expensive than my usual commission work. Please don't hesitate to drop me a note if you'd like me to send you a drawing of your favorite bird of spring.
