A Note from Fr. Steve
Dear Friends,
This Friday and Saturday at St. Peter Cathedral, individuals and families from throughout the Diocese of Erie will be praying around the clock for peace and unity in our nation and for more vocations to the priesthood and religious life. This initiative is called 24 Hours For The Lord ( www.eriercd.org/24hours.htm), and our MPS family is responsible for the 10 -11 a.m. time slot on Saturday, March 18. The Ochalek and Kunik families have graciously volunteered to anchor our prayer coverage (I will be hearing confessions during this time slot), but I am asking you to consider joining them in prayer. Not only is this a worthy endeavor, but I want MPS to be well represented.
Thank you for your consideration and I hope to see you at the Cathedral on Saturday!
Fr. Steve

Middle States
We are looking forward to welcoming the members of the Middle States Validation Team to Mercyhurst Prep March 28 through March 31. This visiting team is comprised of four educators from private high schools in western New York and Pennsylvania and is chaired by Sr. Camille Panich, who recently visited MPS to set the schedule for the upcoming visit.
MPS has spent the past eighteen months working on an extensive self-study. This study is the core of the Middle States Excellence by Design accreditation protocol. A broad array of stakeholders provided invaluable input to this process by completion of surveys and membership on various committees. We have presented this report to Middle States and look forward to the upcoming evaluation by the visiting team.
During the four day visit, the team will tour the school, meet with stakeholder groups, observe classes, and examine documentation that we provide as evidence of adherence to the twelve Middle States Standards. We thank all the stakeholders for their input, and we will keep you updated on the result and how it positively impacts our students.
