Research Bulletin - March 2017 (Issue 13)

As we spring into March, activity continues to build across the research community in Scotland and we are delighted to announce the 2017 Annual NRS Conference will be held on Wednesday 1st November at Perth Concert Hall with Dr Catherine Calderwood, Chief Medical Officer for Scotland delivering the keynote address.

With the release of Realising Realistic Medicine last month highlighting the importance of research and precision medicine in transforming delivery of healthcare, we look forward to an inspiring presentation.

In this issue we also detail the recently announced Motor Neurone Disease Scholarship in honour of Gordon Aikman; and a supporting research event being developed with the NRS Dementia and Neuroprogressive network to take forward discussions on how to bring MND clinical trials to Scotland.

A national collaboration on public involvement in research has also been announced which will provide a set of core standard to help everyone improve the quality and consistency of public involvement in research.

Enjoy reading and as always your ideas, feedback and contributions are welcome.
