The following is a Traffic Advisory for the Newark Downtown area for the following event:
2017 Newark Saint Patrick's Day Parade, scheduled for
Friday, March 24th, 2017.
The parade is scheduled to start at 1:00 pm and end at 2:00 pm, street closures should begin approximately around 12:45 pm.
The following streets will be closed to vehicular traffic during the parade.
- Mulberry Street from Green Street to Center Street
- Lafayette Street From Broad Street to McCarter Highway
- Central Avenue to Washington Place
- Market Street Between Beaver and Mulberry Street
Raymond Blvd will remain open and police personnel will allow traffic to flow east and west during breaks in the parade.
The parade route will commence on Mulberry Street at Lafayette Street at 1:00 pm and will proceed north on Mulberry Street to Center Street. The parade will then proceed west on Center Street across Broad Street onto Central Avenue to Washington Street, proceeding north on Washington Street to Washington Park where the parade will end.
