You may remember being informed about a month ago that the Irving building has been put back on the market with new conditions of sale. As the bid submission deadline of the 7th April rapidly approaches we thought it appropriate to let you know of our plans.
After consultations with various parties and after considering the implications of the new conditions of sale we are looking to submit an updated bid which is both consistent with our vision for the Irving Building and meets the spirit of the new conditions
As we have communicated previously, MRCs main priority is not to act as property developers but rather to develop this building as a resource to better serve the community in all its diversity.
Our decision to make a bid for the Irving Building is motivated by our intention to better serve the people of East Oxford by providing more space and flexibility for community activities; whatever the final result is of the Irving Building process however, we will continue to seek to serve, live in, and build up our local community.
