This week we have been busy sorting out some of the details of new courses coming up linked to the new D&T GCSEs and A levels. There are new dates for the bursary funded courses on the GCSE and A level, including dates in central London and York. If you are a state school or academy the bursary means that the course is FREE, and if you are attending a course in York the bursary also covers the cost of overnight accommodation The first of these dates is 19th and 20th April in London for the course on the new A levels, which is quite soon so if you are interested in this one book your place soon (content covers Product Design and Fashion & Textiles) and some content will be relevant to the current A levels). Find out more.

We have also had confirmation of the factory visit which will be part of the technical textiles course we are running at De Montfort University on behalf of the D&T Association on 10th & 11th April. We will be visiting M.Wright & Sons who are a family owned company whose origins in the textiles industry go back as far as 1860. Originally starting out in the footwear and corsetry trade, they are now a global supplier of various technical textiles and composites used by the military, in industry, in sport, in the aerospace industry and in a range of other uses.
