This Sunday, we will wrap up the sermon series Threads: The Importance of Those Woven Into Our Lives with a guest speaker, Larry Travis. Larry was called into the ministry when he was 21 years old and the journey of ministry has been an incredible ride since. This journey has led him from youth ministry to preaching ministry to college professor to college administration and now back to the preaching ministry. He is currently the Senior Minister at Nicholson Christian Church in Independence, Ky., as well as a professor at Northern Kentucky University. 

He loves missions and has traveled to 37 countries preaching and training leaders. He enjoys mentoring students and leaders both in college and in the church. He has a forthcoming book that he has co-authored on mentorship coming out next year. Larry will be preaching the sermon Who Is Your Timothy?

ADVANCE 17 is a Redemption event for men. No kale. No kumbaya. Just man things like: Camp outside. Build fires. Roast pigs. Laugh. Compete. Split wood. Test your strength. Tell stories. Make pals. Talk to God. Do life together.

Early this winter, wildfires caused catastrophic damage in and around the Gatlinburg, Tenn., area. Many homes and businesses were completely destroyed. Helping His Hands Disaster Response has been in the area providing assistance since the fires were put out. They recently met someone in the area who lost everything. Helping His Hands has been able to secure enough funds to start rebuilding her home in Gatlinburg and they need Redemption’s help. The basement has been poured, so Redemption will be framing and helping with other tasks on site to begin getting her house built.

Dates: Leave at approximately 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 16. We will return Saturday evening, May 20.
Cost: $175 (due by May 7). Cost includes transportation, building materials, housing, and meals. All meals are provided except one evening in Gatlinburg.

In 2017, Redemption will make two short-term mission trips. One to New England (trip registration closed) and another to Portugal to provide support for missionaries Dan and Robin Been.

All dates are set. The plans are made. It's time for Camp at Camp Illiana in Washington, Ind., and CIY in Michigan. Registration is open, so don't miss out on a great summer. Note: Grade levels are for the 2017-18 school year.

Junior Camp is May 30 to June 2 for fourth- and fifth-grade students (Jasper campus students) and fourth- to sixth-grade students (Loogootee campus students). Cost is $210 ($50 deposit).

Junior High Camp is June 11 to 16 for sixth- to eighth-grade students (Jasper campus students) and seventh- and eighth-grade students (Loogootee campus students). Cost is $250 ($50 deposit).

CIY is July 2 to 8 for ninth- to twelfth-grade students (all campuses). Cost is $395 ($50 deposit) before March 15 and $420 ($50 deposit) after March 15.

Jasper: 8:00 a.m., 9:45 a.m., 11:30 a.m.
Loogootee: 8:30 a.m., 10:15 a.m.

There will be nursery, The Spring, and H20 at all services for kids age birth to fifth grade. We will not be having Good Friday services this year.

On the final Sunday of each month, Redemption's Jasper Campus collects non-perishable items for the Community Food Bank. This is a simple way for us to reflect God's mercy to those in need.

Redemption's Loogootee Campus will host a Final Four party on Saturday, April 1, from 6 to 10 p.m. for junior high and high school students. Join us for a fun night of basketball, competitive games, and lots of food. 

Redemption's Loogootee Campus will hold a volunteer night on Wednesday, April 5, at 6:30 p.m. at the campus. The evening will be for all current volunteers and anyone who is interested in being generous with their time through volunteering. There will be an informal meeting walking through the areas of service and the requirements to be a part of each team. Desserts will be served afterwards.
