Development features structural transformation
Two new issues of SID quarterly journal Development have been just relasead: Volume 58.2/3 on Rural Transformations and Volume 58.4 on Sustainable Industrial Transformation. Rural and industrial transformation are both considered crucial steps for many countries and as such have been captured by the Agenda 2030 to narrow the development gap.
What does such transformation mean and imply from the point of view of grassroots, local communities, small farmers and small poducers? The common message of these two important issues is that such transformation shall imply a structural and revolutionary change, move towards inclusiveness, sustainability and fairness, be built on human rights and people sovereignity and be led by political vision and effective governance.
