  • Digital Collections Librarian, University of Richmond, Richmond VA
    • The Digital Collections Librarian works closely with faculty, departments and programs across the university to identify, transform, store and share digital works, and leads daily digitization operations within Discovery, Technology and Publishing. This role includes digital conversion, hardware and software maintenance and troubleshooting, data quality control, creation and maintenance of workflows, and statistical reporting.
  • Kathryn Turner Diversity and Technology Internship (Paid, summer), Smithsonian Libraries, Washington DC
    • The theme of this year’s project is “Enhancing Library Metadata”. The intern will help investigate and experiment with a method of creating a filter-by-color in the Smithsonian Libraries Image Gallery. An algorithm will be researched or developed to detect the predominant color on an image that will be added to the existing metadata for the image. This process will then be included in our existing workflow for new images in the Image Gallery. If time permits, a second phase of the internship will be to extract and transform transcriptions from the SI Transcription Center to prepare and include them in our Digital Library website.

  • Director of the Digital Research Commons, University of Houston, Houston TX
    • The Director of the Digital Research Commons will be a key leader in UH Libraries expansion of services for advancing the digital research productivity of UH faculty, staff, and students. Reporting to the Head of Digital Research Services, the director will manage the day-to-day activities of the Digital Research Commons. Coordinating with Libraries’ external partners, including the UH Division of Research, the Center for Advanced Computing and Data Services, and colleges, the director will contribute to faculty and student digital scholarship projects by providing services for collaboration, program planning, and interdisciplinary digital projects.
  • Digital Assets Librarian and Assistant Professor, University of Mississippi, Oxford MS
    • The position is a twelve-month, tenure track, assistant professorship to work closely with library personnel to identify and prioritize materials for addition to the library’s digital collections and publications. The successful candidate will have experience in digital collection processing of analog and born-digital materials (digitization and digital curation), familiarity with project management (production, capture, access, description and preservation), familiarity with digital asset management systems, familiarity with library standards (EAD, MARC, Dublin Core, etc.), familiarity with digital preservation, and strong communication skills.
