Don’t miss Spring Ballet Concert-This weekend!

Our Spring Concert will be held this weekend in the beautiful, expansive James Dunn theatre on the campus of the College of Marin. The show will consist of repertory works in a variety of styles, choreographed by faculty members Virginia Stapleton, Charles Torres and Shelley Scott. Symphony in C, by the great George Balanchine, will be included, as will Paquita.

The second half of the show promises to be an exciting and ground-breaking experience, as we collaborate with the White Hill Band in seven dance numbers. There is a quintet of Big-Band tunes by top composers George Gershwin, Louis Prima and Glenn Miller, with original choreography by Cynthia Anne Stanley. There is a solo piece performed by trumpeter Owen Foltz featuring dancer Lauren Roberts (pictured). This dynamic show is under two hours in length and we hope to see you there!

There are two performances: Saturday March 25 at 7:00 pm and Sunday March 26 at 1:00 pm, at the James Dunn Theatre at the College of Marin. All seating is general. Advance tickets are on sale here or by calling 1-800-838-3006. There will also be tickets for sale at the door – cash and check only, please.

A Super Summer at Stapleton

Register now for Camps & Workshops

Enrollment is OPEN for all our Summer Programs! Joining favorites such as the Fantasy Ballet Camp (ages 3-5) and the Junior Ballet Intensive (ages 8-11) is our new program, Story Ballet Camp (ages 6-8). Each week-long session of Story Ballet Camp explores a classic ballet story and includes fantasy games, daily ballet classes, and projects and crafts preparing for the production on the final day of the session!

Last year’s two-week performance-based workshop (Coppelia) for 8-12 year old dancers was a resounding success, so the program returns in mid-July. This year’s Performance Workshop attendees will enter the enchanted land of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, a lush forest besieged by feuding fairy kingdoms, awash with magic at every turn!  This program includes rigorous daily ballet class as well as production work. We have extended the day by thirty minutes this year to fit it all in!  Check the website for details on all our Summer programs and register online soon, as there is limited enrollment.

Other returning favorites include our Musical Theatre Camps, Flexibilty & Conditioning Camp, Summer Open Session classes and of course, our two-week Classic Intensive. This year’s theme is The Cinematic Dance Connection and we welcome back guest Artistic Director Wilhelmina Frankfurt and instructors Steven Caras (both former Balanchine dancers), along with Stephen Agosto and Oliver Caras.

All camps are capacity-controlled and we ask that you register early to secure your space. If you have any questions about camp programs, placement or registration, don’t hesitate to contact us.
