The most exciting thing to come out of my studio in the last weeks is Improv Alliance, started during the Seattle MQG block-of-the-month last year. I thoroughly enjoyed each and every month, and it obviously was good practice doing improvisational designing and piecing. What makes this finish extra special is that it was quilted by my guild-mate [and leader of the BOM], Matt Macomber/[odditease], and his artistry really brought it to life!
Lately, Courthouse Steps quilts have really caught my eye, and I've gathered quite a variety for you! A variation on the Log Cabin, it is traditionally built around a central square. Enjoy seeing how the following quilt-makers made the design their own.
Though the blocks in Courthouse Steps by Meghan/Then Came June are fairly representative of a traditional Courthouse Steps quilt, look how her placement changes things up!
