Our precious Bodhi is in the ICU fighting for his life! We need your thoughts, prayers, and financial help to see Bodhi thru this crisis.
Bodhi was not feeling well, and was diagnosed with Pancreatitis and put on appropriate treatment. However, he got worse over the weekend, and his foster mom rushed him to the ER where more x-rays, ultra-sounds, lab tests etc. were performed. These tests were inconclusive, and Bodhi's condition continued to decline.

With no other option available, Bodhi was rushed into emergency exploratory surgery Monday. Bodhi already had a heart murmur, which made the surgery even riskier. It was discovered that Bodhi had a perforation between his stomach and small intestine. This hole caused his abdomen to fill in up with fluid containing acid and bile, leading to his present LIFE THREATENING condition known as peritonitis.

Bodhi has a team of doctors working on him including ER vets, surgeons, internist, cardiologist, and critical care vets. The perforation was repaired, but now Bodhi's body must get strong enough to fight off infection and recover. His white blood count is dangerously high and his albumin (protein) is dangerously low, placing him at a critical point in survival. He has not been able to eat food in 6 days, and had to be placed on a nasogastric feeding tube. He is also receiving hyperbaric oxygen treatments.

Bodhi is being monitored in CRITICAL CARE 24/7, and has a high chance of needing a second surgery. His vet bills are already over $10,000 and climbing.

Our sweet Bodhi has had a hard life and he needs a chance to know real long-term love. He was rescued by RCR from a high-kill shelter as a sick puppy. After we got him healthy, he was adopted. A year and a half later, his mom and dad had a human baby and decided they no longer had time for Bodhi and returned him. He was very fearful of people at that time, and it has taken months for Bodhi to learn to trust again. He just has to pull through!
