Governor Erwin Pröll becomes IRE-Patron
 The IRE is pleased to announce that Governor of Lower Austria Dr. Erwin Pröll joined the IRE “Board of Patrons”. The Board of Patrons consists of high-ranking personalities from politics and economy, who support the idea of a “Europe of Regions” and thus the objective of the Institute of the Regions of Europe (IRE).
Erwin Pröll was born into a wine-growing family. After finishing the Matura in Tulln and attending the Federal Army of Austria, he studied at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna. Prior to his doctorate, he became member of the Austrian farmers' union in 1972, where he soon held the position of economic advisor. He started his political career in the village council. At the age of 33 he was already elected to the Lower Austrian government. Since 1992, he has been the governor of Lower Austria and the party´s chairman.
IRE welcomes new Member
 The IRE is pleased to announce that the company Wischt d.o.o, based in Doboj (BiH), became member of the IRE network. Wischt d.o.o. company was founded in 1996 as a small workshop for wood processing, which in a short period of time step by step has become one of the leaders for the manufacture of vacuum presses, both in the national and international market, from Europe, North and South America, Russia, India to China. Primarily due to its innovation and internationally recognized patents, which are confirmed by numerous awards.

Wischt has also combined machines which can be used in multiple applications at once, or machines with more working tables for time saving in production. Founder and Managing Director of Wischt d.o.o. is Mr. Zvjezdan Višt.
