Dublin Bay Knitting Company's Spring Newsletter!
Spring 2017
Happy Spring!

Greetings, Dubliners!

It's spring time!  Things around here have settled down after the 2017 Rose City Yarn Crawl, and we are getting back to normal. Just look at how far Tricia's dad, Ken, went to escape the yarn crawl craziness!  We are looking forward to the calm summer months ahead and many new, exciting, hand dyed Irish finds coming to the shop soon!

As a result, we have put several yarns on sale to make room.  Be sure to check out Geilsk, Fyberspates, solstice's Regent Suri Lace, Yarn Love, Studio Donegal Aran Tweedand more in our
SALE/CLEARANCE section of our online shop!  You'll find some beautiful yarn at great prices!

We're also excited about the just released Shetland Wool Week pattern!  This year's hat is the
Bousta Beanie, designed by Gudrun Johnston.
Just Arrived!

Swans Island

Brand new in the shop all the way from Maine, is Swans Island. We currently have the Organic Washable DK line in the shop and online. It is a beautiful DK weight yarn, and knits up with a bit of bounce and is 100% organic. Also new from Swans Island are the patterns for the Organic Washable DK. Most of these patterns are designed for kids but they are some of the cutest patterns around! Just look at the Bunny Bomber!

Aileen Clarke Crafts

These little lovelies are also new to the shop and come to us all the way from Scotland, handmade from real felt! We have cards (pics of felted scenes), pendants, brooches, and shawl pins in cute sheepy themes. These are the perfect accent to your knitwear and they are exclusive to us!

Bragging Rights!

3 Color Cashmere Cowl by Joji Locatelli

One of the newest samples to grace the shop is the 3 Color Cashmere Cowl knit up by Nancy. She made a few modifications to this pattern because she wanted to use only one skein each of the Alpaca Silk from Blue Sky Fibers.  The cowl is slightly smaller than the original, though to great effect! "This pattern was quick and easy to knit with lots of interest using the different colors and different stitch patterns. The Alpaca silk makes this cowl delicious to have right up close to your neck. Simply yummy!"

Klickitat Street Cowl by Casapinka
This year's Rose City Yarn Crawl Mystery Knit Along pattern was a beautiful cowl knit in two colors with varying stitch motifs. Stephanie used a skein of Hedgehog Fibres Sock in colorway Wish and a skein of solstice luna sock in colorway The Dark Menace. Stephanie says, "this pattern was a quick and easy knit, and the two colors really add depth and interest along with the varying stitch patterns.

Cheers to Ewe!
Tricia, Stephanie, April, & the Critters!

Adventures of the Evil-Doers, The Dark Menace (Jamie) & The Snoop (Fergus)

Just one of the many ways that the boys destroy my sleep - 5 am play time in my bathroom.  Fergus pries the cabinet door open after about a zillion tries, knocks everything over while Jamie sits in front of the door and whines.
Your monthly funnies!

This is how much we love our chip reader.  We're sorry, so very sorry!

Yep, the Dark Menace is definitely a Type 2 feline/ninja!

When travelling this summer, be sure to just pack the essentials!
