Protest Idan Raichel at City Winery
Hosted with Adalah NY
On March 22nd, Israeli musician Idan Raichel will be performing at City Winery. Raichel proudly calls himself a cultural ambassador of Israel and was once described by an Israeli government official as, “the best ambassador that Israel has.” From performing at "Independence Day" celebrations in numerous embassies and consulates, to promoting the IDF, Raichel is a proven asset of the “Brand Israel” campaign. "Brand Israel" is a public relations strategy that uses culture and arts to whitewash Israeli crimes of apartheid, occupation, and colonization.
Join Adalah-NY and Columbia University Apartheid Divest during Israeli Apartheid Week 2017 to protest the normalization of settler-colonialism. At a time when BDS is gaining traction worldwide, we want to keep up the pressure and honor the cultural boycott of Israeli cultural "ambassadors" of apartheid! With chants, dabke and music by NYC’s Rude Mechanical Orchestra tell City Winery and NYC cultural institutions: art is a tool of liberation, not whitewashing occupation! #BDS #IAW2017#NoNormalization
Join us: Wednesday March 22nd at 7pm, at City Winery, 155 Varick (between Vandam & Spring Sts.), NYC
