Switzerland

Spring started for us with a weekend of concerts in the stunning Swiss Alps, starting high in the mountains in Les Diablerets, for the Festival de Musique et Neige, before travelling along Lake Geneva to the village of Mont-sur-Rolle for our second concert. Rehearsing was a pleasure with such a beautiful backdrop!
Les Diablerets
Thanks again to our great friends Mickey and Nadine Denison-Pender for their hospitality and help in Switzerland.

Music in St Mawes

We are just back from a wonderful week away in the beautiful Cornish fishing village of St Mawes, a whole world (and several hours by train!) away from the bustle of London. We were there with Kirker Holidays, based in the superb Hotel Tresanton, performing a series of three concerts

We played a varied programme across the three evenings, ranging from Haydn and Beethoven, to Suk and Philip Glass. We also performed Simon Rowland-Jones’ second Viola Quintet ‘Trouvaille’, commissioned by us for the Sacconi Festival in 2014 with the composer.

STOP PRESS: We are delighted to have been invited by Kirker to perform on one of their music cruises next Summer. More details to follow!

McCabe Recording

We have also just finished recording John McCabe's Silver Nocturnes, with the wonderful baritone Roderick Williams, to complete a CD of chamber music by McCabe for NMC Records. The other works will be his Piano Quintet (recorded with the composer), and his Horn Quintet, with David Pyatt.

The disc should be on sale later this year. Watch this space!

10th Sacconi Festival Early Birds

If you haven’t already got your Rover Tickets for our Festival then don’t forget you’ve got until the 31st March to take advantage of the Early-Bird offer of £85 instead of £90, which gives you access to all 5 concerts. Box office and full programme details here

May Festivals

As well as our own Festival, we will also be performing in the Prague Spring Festival, over the Whit Bank Holiday weekend, which is straight after our own Festival. Full details can be found here. We will also be performing in the Newbury Spring Festival in early May, in the special Highclere Castle Gala Concert with Clarinettist Mark Simpson.

May promises to be a busy month for us!

In Other News

We also have concerts coming up in Naunton, Birmingham and Ilkley - details can be found on our Diary page.

At the end of March Hannah is putting on a charity concert with some of her music friends in aid of the Refugee Council. The concert will be on the 28th March in Forest Hill, and full details can be found here.

This Easter, Cara will be joining the pianist and musical Director Libby Burgess at the New Paths Music Festival, held in the beautiful Yorkshire town of Beverley. She will be joined there by other well-known chamber musicians and singers, including the violinist Jamie Campbell and harpsichordist Christopher Bucknall, Cara's husband! The event is spread across four days, from Thursday 20th April to Sunday 23rd, with concerts taking place in venues across Beverley, including in its exquisite 13th-century Minster.

Thank you to all of you for your continuing support and goodwill.

Love from us all,

Ben, Hannah, Robin & Cara
