Our school needs to grow. A bigger school means a more vibrant community, better facilities for more children and the means for increased recognition for all our wonderful, generous and dedicated (largely volunteer!) staff. Research shows word of mouth is the number 1 way of growing enrolments so please share this with everyone.

Helena River Steiner School

Dear Parents and Community,
We are well and truly into the swing of the new school year and I trust all the children are now secure with their teachers/leaders, their friends and their routines.
As always, there are many developments happening here and we are delighted to announce the newest: our inaugural mixed-age primary class (for 6-10 year olds) will be commencing next term. We are very pleased to introduce Kathy Riley who will be teaching this pioneering group.

Kathy comes with an experience of teaching multiple age groups and a great enthusiasm for the creativity and vast scope of the Steiner curriculum.
We will be holding an information session on how the class will look and operate this Friday night, 24th March at 6 pm in the office/primary building. This is open to anyone interested in learning more about this unique class and the Steiner approach to learning.
Welcome Kathy and the new primary families and we look forward to getting to know you all next term.
Blessings on our school,
Tanami Magnus

Principal

HOW WILL YOU DO YOUR VOLUNTEER HOURS THIS TERM?
There are always so many tasks to be done in a growing school, so we now have a jobs board. If you or any of your family members can help with any of the following, please let Tanami know in the office or come to our
BUSY BEE
Sunday 2nd April
9 am - 1pm
. Volunteer Hours forms will be handed out next week and each family can hand them in when the hours are completed.

Many hearts now keep it warm"

EASTER FESTIVAL

MONDAY 3RD APRIL
12 pm

We welcome all families to celebrate the Easter time of year with us. What is Easter about? How can we make it meaningful? We will celebrate this time of new life with a shared meal, so please bring a plate of finger food to share and a picnic rug.

KINDERGARTEN PARENT INFORMATION SESSION
TUESDAY 28TH MARCH

12.00 PM
Adrienna, our kindergarten teacher, will share with parents what we do in a Steiner kindergarten and why. She will talk about what is happening developmentally for the 3 - 6 year old child and what can be done in the home to foster healthy growth. This is also your opportunity to ask her questions about how your child is going at school. Fathers are strongly encouraged to come! It is also open to prospective kindergarten families. It will be held in the Playgroup Room
CROWDFUNDING CAMPAIGN
We have been working steadily on a crowdfunding campaign over the last few months which will be ready to launch by the end of the term. We are seeking donations on a wide scale in order to bring our school up to the next level of professional operation. We have come so far in the last 3 and a half years on the continual generosity of time, services, skills and donated resources of our teacher, parent and wider community, and on the sniff of an oily rag! Now it is time we gather some significant funds in order to support our growing operations. We will ask you when the time comes to share our campaign far and wide.
MONDAY MORNING CUPPA
Everyone is welcome to come and have a cuppa with other parents after drop off on Mondays. For the remainder of this term it will be held in the kitchen area of the office and primary classroom building. Come and get to know your fellow parents while eating some of Carol's famous cakes!

PARENTS AND FRIENDS COMMITTEE (P & F)
